A full-day workshop leading students through the history and political context of duplicator printing, including zines and small-scale publishing, followed by demonstrations on the inner workings of the risograph. After lectures and demos, the class gets into a dirty process session (with their own from-home visual experiments) where students get hands-on creative support as they design a publication around their own research question and position. After choosing a limited color palette as a group, students will one-by-one begin the process of risoprinting elements for their project. At the end of class, the group spreads out their finished work on display for a group critique.
